AWESOME STAR WARS FLAGS BY FLAGS OF THE GALAXY

A London-based art director called Scott Kelly has designed a bunch of amazing flags for different planets in the Star wars universe. This project is a combination of his two childhood obsessions: Star Wars and flag design. The flags he has designed are for planets that have been featured in the various movies as well as comic books, animated series and video games. The designs are in keeping with a lot of the basic rules of flag design, otherwise known as vexillology.

Mozambique Flag

The only national flag in the world to feature a modern assault rifle. The AK-47 is supposed to represent defence and vigilance in a country that was beset with civil war for over a decade.

Antwerp Flag

One of the worst flags in the world comes from the state of Antwerp in Belgium. It’s a chess board on acid. The flag is made of 24 square pieces, in 4 rows and 6 columns. The pieces in the upper right and lower left corners of the flag are white, the neighbouring pieces are blue, yellow, red and white, respectively.

Nepal Flag

The flag of Nepal is the only national flag in the world that is not rectangular. The flag is a simplified combination of two single pennants. Its crimson red is the colour of the rhododendron, the country’s national flower. Red is also the sign of victory in war. The blue border is the colour of peace.

Frisian Flag

The official flag of the Dutch province of Friesland. It consists of four blue and three white diagonal stripes; in the white stripes are a total of seven red pompeblêden, leaves of the yellow water-lily, that may remind one of hearts, but according to the official instructions “should not be heart-shaped”.

North Caucasian Emirate Flag

A small republic for just six months during the Russian Civil War of 1917-22, the North Caucasian Emirate’s flag featured this cutesy (and presumably unintended) smiley face.

West African Flag

This unusual flag is commonly (and wrongly) attributed to the Benin Empire. It is one of four currently held at the National Maritime Museum in Greenwich near London. There is some uncertainty about the exact origin of the flag, and whether it came from Benin itself or was used by the forces of its Itsekiri allies.

Guam Flag

The flag of the United States territory of Guam was adopted on February 9, 1948. The territorial flag is dark blue with a narrow red border on all sides (border was a later addition). In the centre of the flag is the coat of arms; an almond shaped emblem, which depicts a proa sailing in Agana Bay near Hagåtña, and GUAM coloured in red letters.

Sicily Flag

The Sicilian flag bears three legs in the shape of a triskelion which is supposed to represent the three corners of the island. The flag was first adopted in 1282 and therefore is thought to predate the similar design of the Isle of Man’s flag.

Swaziland Flag

The flag of Swaziland was adopted on October 6, 1968 after Swaziland gained independence from Britain on September 6, 1968. The flag is based on the military flag given by King Sobhuza II to the Swazi Pioneer Corps in 1941 to remind them of the nation’s military traditions.

Bermuda Flag

Bermuda’s flag bears the British red ensign and a coat of arms that shows the 17th century ship Sea Venture that was deliberately crashed by Admiral George Somers in a bad storm. But the flag also bears an ironic resemblance to the Atlantic island’s reputation for being a hotspot for lost ocean vessels and aeroplanes.

U.S. Virgin Islands Flag

The current flag of the U.S. Virgin Islands was officially adopted in 1921. As an unincorporated territory of the United States, the island’s flag features parts of the U.S. seal. One eagle claw holds three arrows, representative of the three major islands, while the other claw holds an olive branch.

Kyrgyzstan Flag

The flag of Kyrgyzstan was adopted on 3 March 1992 by the Supreme Council of Kyrgyzstan. It consists of a red field with a yellow sun in the center having 40 uniformly spaced rays.

Northern Marianas Islands Flag

The flag of the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands was adopted in July 1985, by the Second Northern Marianas Constitution. The NMI flag was originally designed by Taga during the year 1985.

Jolly Roger Flag

The Jolly Roger is the name given to any of various flags flown to identify a ship’s crew as pirates. The flag most usually identified as the Jolly Roger today is the skull and crossbones, a flag consisting of a human skull above two long bones, set in an x-mark arrangement on a black field.

Nazi Flag

The Nazi flag is probably the most controversial flag in man’s history. It is even banned in a number of countries today. The flag was designed by Hitler himself, who thought it was necessary to use the same colours as Imperial Germany.

The current business climate favours contemporary marketing channels such as social media, email newsletters, retail apps and so on. But poster advertising isn’t dead, yet. High streets remain inundated with large format posters highlighting the best of what brands can offer, demonstrating their ongoing utility in advertising to this day. In this post, we’re going to convey the importance of posters in advertising your business by detailing their main business advantages. Posters printing is still a real deal for an A class company till date.

What is poster advertising?

Large format poster printing is a perennial marketing tool used by businesses across the globe. Printed posters are perfect for fostering brand awareness due to their large size and versatility – they’re equally as effective inside and out! Indoor posters, typically found within retail premises, tend to be sized at either A4 or A3. On the other hand, outdoor posters require a much larger size to remain visible to passers-by. Outdoor posters can either take the form of 6 sheet Adhsels for bus stops, or 48 and 96 sheet options for billboards.

How effective are posters in advertising?

Listed below are the main advantages of poster advertising:

Versatility

Affordability

Exposure

Versatility

By far the main advantage of poster advertising is its versatility. Once you have honed in on where the majority of your target audience is likely to be, your printed posters can be placed almost anywhere. For example, a public transport advertising poster could be strategically placed within a highly congested area to highlight the benefits of taking the bus or train over waiting around in traffic for an extended period of time.

Affordability

Unlike most modern advertising methods which require ongoing payment, such as PPC or social media advertising, poster advertising simply necessitates a one-off payment from a dedicated printing company. xinicomms.com offer indoor and outdoor poster printing for a fraction of the typical cost. We use top of the range Digital Presses to ensure sharp imagery, bold colours and easy-to-read text. As explained in the following section, your investment will pay for itself through significant increases in brand exposure and lead generation.

Exposure

Poster advertising is the ultimate brand reinforcement tactic. Because of the way in which your printed posters can remain at a location indefinitely, it’s likely that members of your target audience will come into contact with it on numerous occasions. This ongoing brand exposure will render potential customers more comfortable with your brand, thus increasing the likelihood of enquiries.

Design the perfect pull up | Roll up banner

Posted by XINI Prints

A pull up banner branding is a highly effective and impactful way to announce your business, advertise your services, grow your brand or promote events. When it comes to designing large format products like pull up banners, you need to think very differently than you would if designing a leaflet or brochure. We’ve listed a few tips to help you design pull up banners that will be really effective and keep working for you again and again.

Put your logo at the top

Put your logo and any vital information at the top. Not only is it the first part people will notice but pull up banners are often located where obstructions such as tables, chairs or even people might obscure parts of the design, especially from a distance.

Use the Information Hierarchy

People read from top to bottom, left to right. That’s why your logo and main information must go at the top with bullet points, pics or additional info underneath that. Don’t be tempted to fill all available space with text. Your pull up banner’s job is to grab attention quickly, so draw people in with a great headline. A web address or easy to remember contact number can point people to further information.

Consider your design aesthetic

Your design aesthetic is the design style your brand follows. There are certain rules for effective design. Following these means your marketing will be easy on the eye and will get your message across clearly. However, your brand should find its own style and feel. A good design aesthetic enforces your brand across all your marketing.

Use only high quality images

Pull up banners are large products that make a big statement. Don’t allow your message or brand to be discredited by using poor quality images. Bland stock images will look just that. If you’re using a pic, get creative with something striking, unusual or humorous. Make sure any image used is 300dpi at artwork size. Low resolution images will look blurred and pixelated when they’re enlarged.

Clear typography

Your pull up banner might have only a few seconds to make an impact. People lose interest quickly so use clear typography and easy-to-read fonts. When designing pull up banners, keep it clear and keep it simple.

Make use of space

Don’t be afraid of space or feel you need to fill every gap with text, images or graphics. Some of the best designs use space or negative space very effectively, drawing the eye to the main message or call to action.

Your pull up banner at the perfect price
