Olurishe Ebun Deborah is a fast growing multi-talented performing artist, whose stage name “Debie Rise” first came to limelight during her participation in the talent show ‘Nigerian Idol’, where she emerged as the 1st Runner-up, and much more during the Big Brother Naija TV Reality Show ‘See Gobe’, where finished as the 3rd Runner-up.
Debie Rise changed her brand name to DEBORAH RISE in 2018, in order relay a more wholesome view of her versatility in the entertainment industry.
She is from a family of 5, all of whom are lovers of music. Deborah grew up in Kogi state, and studied Computer Science with a major in programming and graphics design at the Federal University of Technology Yola.
Deborah was among the artists signed by Telecommunications company ‘Etisalat’ – now ‘9Mobile’, for their “Etisalat EasyCliq Campus Concerts. This gig earned her the platform to perform in over 20 Nigeria Universities. Deborah also performed multiple times at the Pepsi Football Academy gala nights.
Her passion for teenagers and young adults drove her to start the ‘R.A.G.E (Rise Above General Expectations)’ movement. Through this movement, she toured 12 Nigerian states and was able to donate guitars and other materials to secondary schools, as well as organize a concert in these states. Deborah continues to hold meetings with stakeholders in the educational/entertainment sector, on her quest to improve the social-education of teens and young adults.
Deborah is a strategic debater, an actor, a dancer, an active sport player, a guitarist, and a musician. Her daily mantra remains “Impossible is Nothing”.
